With this cable, you won't need an internal battery for your GoPro Camera. Just use a 3A BEC 5V power supply for your Gopro. Please note that GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition requires an internal battery to power on. Silver Edition does not require an internal battery to power on. After power on, the camera can run on the 5v power input from external source.
