Lili tried and loved … Kerastase Resistance Therapiste

“Confession: Ever since I tried the two-tone hair colouring service at Backstage Hair Salon, I had not done any hair treatment – until recently, when Material World was invited to try out the new Kerastase Resistance Therapiste ritual at Salon Vim. Available for purchase and designed for very damaged to over-processed hair, Kerastase’s new hair care range is made using the extracts of a very special ingredient – Myrothamnus Flabellifolia, also known as the resurrection plant. This plant, native to South Africa, is known for its unique ability to come back to life (after drying out in arid environments) when in contact with water. Harnessing the resurrection abilities of the plant, researchers from L’Oreal Advanced Research created Resistance Therapiste, which helps restore the health of severely damaged hair. The range consists of four products: Soin Premier Therapiste (a pre-shampoo conditioner); Bain Therapiste (shampoo); Masque Therapiste (hair mask); and Double Serum Therapiste (hair serum).

After my hair ritual, my hair looked and felt incredibly smooth and silky – a 180-degree turn from my previously dry and lifeless bleached hair! I tried the travel-sized kit at home a week later. Understandably, I couldn’t quite recreate the results of a professionally executed hair treatment, but my hair was not as frizzy and damaged as before.”

Kerastase Resistance Therapiste is available at partner salons islandwide. For details, click here.

How I Finally Healed 12 Years of Highlighting My Hair

I had grown up with hairstylists and strangers regularly stopping me to touch my thick waves, but in the last few years, this sort of hair attention had dissipated. I grew up in South Florida, a region of the country where bright blond reigns, and I've been highlighting my seriously thick locks for over 12 years. While my life in San Francisco has been seriously stripped down (I rarely spend money on expensive beauty products and almost never blow-dry my hair), I'm not willing to give up my regular hair-color appointment.
Knowing that this dye devotion has probably damaged my mane made me jump at the opportunity to test out the new Kerastase Résistance Thérapiste. The line was released this Summer, and it promises to undo years of damage by renewing and reconstructing overprocessed, brittle, and severely damaged hair. After about eight weeks of regular use, I'm squeezing and pumping every last drop I can out of these tubes.
