Semendo is situated in the district of the Muara Enim Regency. The majority of the Semendo have been farmer for generation. The fertile farmland lies 900 meters above sea level.
Semendo coffee is one of the most famous coffee from South Sumatra Indonesia. The fragrant and the strong taste of this Sumatera Coffee describe all the luxury in coffee. This is one of the recommended Sumatera coffee from Indonesia.
Dry Process
Most Robusta coffee from South Sumatera is dried process. Dry process is also known as unwashed coffee. The Semendo ripe coffee cherry is cleaned and placed in the sun to dry. The dried coffee pulp and parchment are removed by hulling process leaving the seed or beans.
Roasting Process
The green beans are roasted to medium roast. Roasters typically operate at temperature between 240 – 275 degree Celsius and the beans are roasted for a period of approximately 30 min.
Grinding Process
The roasted coffee beans go through grinding process into coarse grind and fine grind according to customer request. Some customer, however, prefer to grind the roasted bean on their own.
Packing Process
Roasted beans (grind and non-grind) are immediately packed to preserve the freshness.

The entrepreneurs of processed beverages from Treste, Italy, plan to import coffee products from Semendo Sub-Districts, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra Province. They rate the taste of Semendo coffee suitable to be the main raw material of processed beverage industry in their country.
That is one of the conclusions of the visit from Italian coffee entrepreneurs to the government of South Sumatra Province and Palembang City, Friday (14/9). The event was attended by governors and several government officials. The visit lasted for two days.
The head of South Sumatra Plantation Department, Syamuil Chatib, said, Semendo coffee is one of the coffee products that are considered to be special and to be South Sumatra original.
