The Beta Inkless pen

( by Axel ---German precision engineering) is a Bauhaus design to the max---form follows function!

The Beta Inkless Pen is the most eco-green writing instrument.  Use it and you will stop contributing to the grinding away of trees by sharpening away wood pencils.  The Beta Inkless Pen will be your favorite writing instrument.  Use it for a new experience.  It lays down a grey line that doesn't smudge or erase. It never needs sharpening and doesn't run out. It's design is the revival of an age old artist technique of writing in metal! The tiny metal tip is made of lead (so do not put it in your mouth) and will write notes forever. The shaft of the pen is available in anodized aluminium which is cool to the touch. Once you are hooked on using this Pen, you will definitely want to pass the experience on to a friend. This pen RULES!

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: It must run out eventually, right?

Answer: Yes, the laws of physics demand that if you're transferring material from the tip of the pen to the paper that eventually you'll run out. However, the amount you use while writing is so tiny that the Inkless Metal Pen will last a lifetime.

Question: You say that the tip is a metal alloy containing small amounts of lead. The markings look a lot like pencil. Are you sure this isn't a pencil (I thought they were made from lead, too)?

Answer: Yes, at one time pencils used lead (they now use graphite). However, it was a much softer grade than what is used in the Inkless Metal Pen. Furthermore, the alloy tip of the Inkless Metal Pen only includes a minuscule amount of lead. While the "ink" of the Inkless Metal Pen is gray-ish like a pencil, it has somewhat of a metallic sheen unlike any pencil.

Question: Isn't lead dangerous?

Answer: Yes, lead is dangerous if you eat copious amounts of it. The same is true of hamburgers. However, because of this danger, we strongly warn against allowing children to use the Inkless Metal Pen (despite the fact that the amount of lead in the Inkless Metal Pen is minuscule). A child could put the tip in their mouths. They may also drive too fast after they get their driver's license...but we don't have much control over that. Or do we?

Question: You said that it never goes dull, but you also mention "sharpening" it. What gives?

Answer: The Inkless Metal Pen won't dull like a typical pencil due to the fact that only minuscule amounts of material transfers from the tip to the paper. However, if you wished for a finer point, you could use some sandpaper to "sharpen" the tip.

Question: Is it difficult to use seeing as the tip is metal?

Answer: Not at all. It doesn't require that you hold it or use it in any specific manner. It'll work with any writing style. You may notice a tiny bit more friction than a pencil, though.

Question: Will it mark on skin or clothes?

Answer: The Inkless Metal Pen does not mark on skin. We haven't tested every type of fabric, but we have yet to find a piece of clothing that you can mark with the Inkless Metal Pen

Q: How thick is the body of the pen?

A: 16cm x 1cm diameter

Q: Does it write on metal, like aluminum foil? That's my main interest in getting it, -- all metal book.Only India Ink seems to write on aluminum foil however.

A: No, the Inkless Metal Pen does not write on metal.

Q: Does the pen ever run out?

A: Not in your lifetime, it won't.

Q: Wouldn't just keep getting smaller and smaller do to the constant sanding wit the sand paper¿?

A: You don't need to sand the tip that often or that much, so it really shouldn't be an issue.

Q: Can I use a magnet to "erase" inkless metal pen "ink"? Since it is metal.

A: No. The Inkless Metal Pen is not magnetic.

Q: When the pen writes, will it feel like your writing in pencil on glossy paper(bunch of squeaking), pencil on paper, or pen in paper?

A: It's very similar to writing with a pencil. How smooth it feels depends on how worn the tip is.

Q: can you erase it with a normal eraser

A: The markings are permanent and cannot be erased.

Q: So only the tip of the pen contains the writing material and the body is just pure aluminium which cant be used to write?

A: That is correct, just like how the plastic which makes up the body of a marker is used to guide the felt rather than do any writing itself.

Q: Would you be able to shade drawings like a pencil?

A: You can! Just like a pencil, the amount of pressure you use will determine how dark the markings are.

Q: I know someone who draws a LOT. I know you say this thing will last a lifetime, but if she gets her hands on one my money isn't on the pen. So, strictly by quantity of drawing, is this thing cheaper than an equivalent number of pencils?

A: Without a doubt.

Q: If I were to put the pen into my pocket would it leave a mark?

A: Nope! The Inkless Metal Pen will not rub off on your clothes.
