What Makes RoomMates Decals Different?
RoomMates does wall decals differently from traditional stickers and wall decals, which use a sticky backing that bonds to paint or smooth surfaces. When you try to remove these traditional decals, some of the sticky residue is left behind, and you may even pull up some of your wall's paint when removing decals.
RoomMates wall decals use a special adhesive that grips the wall tightly but doesn't form a bond, so that it lifts easily without damage or remaining residue. And you'll be able to remove and reposition your wall decal without reducing its adhesive grip.
Easy to Apply
RoomMates wall decals arrive printed on one or more sheets and packaged in a protective plastic shell. Unfold the sheets and spread them out on a flat surface. Peel the first wall decal from the sheet, bring it to the wall, and slowly smooth the decal from top to bottom while pressing firmly. If you need to reposition the decal, simply peel it away from the wall and re-apply it. When you're finished, it's a good idea to keep the liner sheets and packaging so you can remove wall decals and store them away for later use.
You can stick RoomMates wall decals on just about any smooth surface, including walls, ceilings, doors, windows, mirrors, furniture, chalkboards, window shades, and desks -- even vehicles. Just make sure the surface is smooth to the touch and that it's fully cleaned before applying the wall decal. Don't apply wall decals to unfinished wood, rugs, fabrics, clothing, or other textiles as the fibers can render the adhesive ineffective very quickly.
If your wall has been recently painted or wallpapered, you should wait at least two weeks before applying. If you apply RoomMates wall decals before the paint or wallpaper has completely cured, they may curl, peel, or fall off entirely (and possibly take some of the paint or wallpaper off of your wall).
