The box says ages 6+ but he loved it! I read one review prior to purchasing and it wasn't a good one. It said the crayons didn't bake and harden properly but we didn't have that problem at all. It was fun and easy to do. A craft she can do mostly for herself until it's time for the oven. They melted fine and once cooled they look really cool. The cupcake top has to be set on the cupcake bottom so it doesn't pop out as a complete cupcake. The HUGE issue with these...they don't color. My daughter was so excited to color with her one of a kind creations(her words) but they didn't color. You had to press down really hard to get a touch of color and it was mostly a very faint color and then the cupcake broke apart because you have to press hard to use them.
