The HOB Protein Skimmer is a powerful hang-on skimmer that features an Italian-made needlewheel pump. It is rated up to 100 gallons in a design thin and versatile enough to be placed on a small to large size saltwater aquarium. The HOB protein skimmer removes organic waste from aquarium water. It creates a strong mix of small air bubbles and turbulent water movement to force protein, waste and other materials into a collection cup for easy removal. Simply adjust the collection cup up or down for drier or wetter skimmate. A convenient drain fitting on the collection cup allows to you reduce maintenance by having the skimmate drain into a separate, larger, container.

The innovative skimmer design includes a dedicated heater chamber that allows you to remove the clutter from your aquarium. Having water actively passing through the heater also improves the heater's efficiency. The space-saving design allows you to keep as much equipment as possible out of your aquarium by placing the skimmer pump inside the skimmer rather than in your aquarium. The heart of the skimmer is the Italian-made Cobalt Aquatics needlewheel pump. This high quality pump is designed specifically for protein skimmer applications and includes an efficient needlewheel. An one-year limited warranty is provided directly by Cobalt Aquatics. Requires approximately 4.75" of clearance to remove collection cup. Fits aquarium rims up to 3/4" thick.
