Using a patented digital infrared digital sensor, the ARC InstaTemp measures temperature by taking 800 surface and ambient temperatures from the forehead, removing outliers, and averaging the remaining temperatures to 3 with which it then outputs an accurate forehead temperature reading by way of ARC's proprietary algorithm. READINGS IN SECONDS

1. Ensure that the patient and the device are in a consistent temperature environment for 20 minutes prior to use. If apparent, move any hair and wipe any perspiration from the forehead.
2. Point the thermometer 0.5-1.2 inches away from the center of the forehead, above the eyebrows and between the eyes.
