In the standard zoom with a high zoom ratio, astigmatism, curvature of field, distortion, chromatic aberration and the like tend to occur.

In order to correct these aberrations, high-performance lenses such as FLD glass, SLD glass, glass mold aspheric lens including double-sided aspheric lenses are properly arranged.

Furthermore, on the telephoto side, the axial chromatic aberration is effectively corrected and high depicting performance is exhibited over the entire zoom range.

Consideration is also given to lowering of peripheral light intensity which is conspicuous with the lens of the same specification.

With a filter size of a large aperture of 82 mm, optical performance with surplus is realized.

Equipped with a camera shake correction OS (Optical Stabilizer) mechanism, it is effective for photographing indoor and evening scenes and close-up photography.

From the initial stage of the lens design, we are taking thorough countermeasures against flare and ghost, and it is designed to be less susceptible to strong incident light like backlighting.

By adopting Super Multi Layer Coat, it reduces the occurrence of flare and ghost, realizes high contrast contrast even in backlighting.
