In general, all pewter tarnishes very slowly and requires almost no maintenance. To clean your pewter after using it to serve food, hand wash in warm water with a liquid dish soap. Be sure to dry the pewter completely. Water allowed to dry on your pewter may cause spots. Match Flatware and Convivio tableware are dishwasher safe. However, if you have hard water (water with a high mineral content) we do not recommend using a dishwasher, as elements in the water could possibly cause tarnishing or pitting of your pewter. This is true with any pewter on the market. We recommend that you use a low heat setting with a liquid dishwasher soap. Please do not wash any Match Italian pewter in the extreme temperatures of a commercial dishwasher.
