Ortovox Base ABS Backpack Compact, light, and with a wide range of possible applications, the Ortovox Base provides an entry point into the world of avalanche airbags. The removable ABS airbag system M.A.S.S. (Modular Airbag Safety System) is a standard feature that enables the system to be adapted to prevailing conditions. With an anatomical shape and a lean silhouette, the Base was designed especially for freeride tours and day ski tours. A TUV-certified back protector can also be integrated for optimum protection. The Base Pack has two compartments: a large, colored inner compartment with separate fixing options for emergency equipment, and a front compartment. The main compartment is accessed from the front. The trigger can be mounted on the left or the right backpack strap. The height and angle of the trigger can be adjusted for easier access, and the locking aluminum clasp provides a safeguard against accidental activation. Skis, snowboards or snowshoes can be attached quickly and easily using the X-Skifix system. Locking aluminum buckles and hypalon belts provide the necessary robustness. Skis can be mounted crosswise or diagonally. A pick holder, a chest strap with signal whistle, a camera/cell phone pocket on the hip belt, water-repellent zippers and a Polygiene finish that provides lasting protection against odors are all standard features of the BASE.
