Azo dyes are used as artificial colorants for textiles and plastics.
It produces bright colours like red, brown and yellow, which are obtained from the by-product of azo dyes called aromatic amines.
All EU countries are required to prohibit the manufacture and sale of goods which are found to contain the aromatic amines originating from a small number of azo dyes.
