Lotus Root Tea Nature's Glory 50g


 Lotus is a perennial plant and tuber. The rhizome bearing roots from its underside store important nutrients necessary to the lotus plant and beneficial to man. It grows about 70cm in the muddy bottoms of lakes and ponds. Folklore have it that it blooms from 1000 year old seed and has powerful energy.

Traditionally used for treating sore throat and coughing.

The main components of the lotus plant are nelumbine, asparagine and starch which work together to expel mucus from the lungs.

Nature's Glory Lotus Roots are harvested in the winter when they are richest in nutrients. Lotus Root Tea is made by crushing the lotus rhizome and the fragments are sifted to remove the fibers and then pulverized into a fine powder.

Preparation : Mix one teaspoon of Lotus Root Beverage with one half cup of water in a small sauce pan; add a pinch of salt and heat over low heat until boiling.
