Ovulation test strips
Introduction
Ovulation test strips assess the amount of luteinizing hormone(LH) you have in your system. Just prior to ovulation, an average of 36 hours before ovulation, a test strip will show this LH surge. An increase in luteinizing hormone means that the egg is soon to be released into the fallopian tube. This is an optimal time to have sexual intercourse if you desire to become pregnant.
Luteinizing hormone (or LH) in elevated quantities causes ovulation (the release of the egg - or ovum - from the ovarian follicle). During the menstrual cycle only a small amount of LH is made, but in the middle of the cycle LH briefly and dramatically increases. This increase is called the "LH surge" and precedes ovulation. Conception is most likely to occur within thirty-six hours following the LH surge. The LH Ovulation Test is specifically designed to detect your LH surge - the time when you are likely to ovulate. If you receive a positive on an LH test, you are in your most fertile phase of your menstrual cycle.
When to start testing
Determine the length of the menstrual cycle. The length of the menstrual cycle is the number of days from the first day of menstrual bleeding to the day before bleeding begins on the next period. Determine the usual length of the menstrual cycle over the last few months. Then, refer to the Ovulation Calendar Cycle Chart below to determine on which day of the menstrual cycle to begin testing. If your cycle is less than twenty-one days or greater than forty days, consult a physician.

How to use
■ Wash your hands with warm water and soap.
■ To begin testing, open the sealed pouch by tearing along the notch. Remove the LH test from the pouch. Note: The ideal time to test is in the afternoon, not early morning, though testing may safely take please from 10am to early evening.

1. Carefully place the LH test vertically into the urine cup around the MAX Line (Marker Line) for 3-5 seconds. Do not allow the urine level to exceed the MAX line.
2. Take out of the srip
3. Lay the test strip on a flat surface and wait for the colour band to appear.
4. Positive results may be observed within 10-30 munites. The complete reaction time of 10 minutes is required, but no more than 30 minutes.
Positive test result: When the test is positive, two distinct bands appear in control and test regions.
Negative test result: A single band indicates negative pregnancy result.
Invalid test result: There may be a time when none of the bands appear, either in control or test area of the strip.

Attention
■ Test between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. The LH surge is very brief, so testing twice a day gives you the best chance of detecting it. Test at the same time each day.
■ Remember that there is always some amount of LH in your system, so a light test color band should not be interpreted as a positive result.
■ This test is designed for single use only and should not be reused.
Pregnancy test strips
Introduction
Pregnancy tests are designed to tell if your urine or blood contains a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). This hormone is produced right after a fertilized egg attaches to the wall of a woman's uterus.
This usually happens -- but not always -- about six days after fertilization. If you're pregnant, levels of hCG continue to rise rapidly, doubling every two to three days.
Urine tests can be done at home or in a doctor's office. Many women first choose a home pregnancy test to take about a week after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests are private and convenient.
How to use
1. Wash your hands with warm water and soap.
2. Remove the testing device from its foil wrapper. Please do the test within one hour when the its foil wrapper is removed.
3. Sit on the toilet and urinate into urine collection cup. You should try to use a midstream sample, which means you should pee a little first before you collect any urine in the cup.
4. Holding the strip vertically, carefully dip it into the specimen.
5. Carefully dip the test strip into the urine sample for three seconds. If you notice that the dye has not reached the result area, then dip it again as per instructed above.Do not immerse past the MAX Line.
6. Lay the test strip on a flat surface and wait for the colour band to appear.
7. Time taken for display of result directly depends upon the concentration of hCG in the urine specimen. A positive result can be observed within 40 seconds, however for confirmation of negative test you need to wait for at least 3-5 minutes. Invalid test result more than 10 minutes.

Positive test result: When the test is positive, two distinct bands appear in control and test regions. Colour intensity of the test band may vary due to different stages and levels of hCG. Weak positive might means early pregnancy, please retest the other day to confirm.
Negative test result: A single band indicates negative pregnancy result. When only one colour band appears in the control region and no band in the test region then the pregnancy has not been detected.
Invalid test result: There may be a time when none of the bands appear, either in control or test area of the strip.
Attention
■ You should know that waiting at least a week after a missed period may give you the most accurate result. Results may also be more accurate if you do the test first thing in the morning, when your urine is more concentrated.
■ The test kits can be stored at room temperature (4 to 30°C) in the sealed pouch to the date of expiration. The test kits should be kept away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat.
■ This test is designed for single use only and should not be reused.
