Daktarin® Oral Gel: Contains the active ingredient miconazole. This antifungal medicine kills fungi and yeasts by causing holes to appear in their cell membranes. The cell membranes of fungi are vital for their survival. They keep unwanted substances from entering the cells and stop the contents of the cells from leaking out. By making holes in the membranes, miconazole allows essential constituents of the fungal cells to leak out, which kills the fungi and clears up the infection.
