The first Citra Citrus Sippers were made out of wax that was poured into a wood mold. Then peppermint was added so you could eat the sipper after using it to drink the juice. Later versions removed the flavoring and were made out of wood, then porcelain, and finally today plastic.

For the most juice; select fully mature juicy fruit. Soften the fruit by rolling it around in your hands or against a flat-surface while applying light pressure. Using the slotted serrated end of the Citra Sipper cut a hole in either end of the fruit using a twisting motion.
Continue twisting and push the Citra Sipper into the fruit until the flange on the spout end sets against the peel. You are now ready to start sipping. To keep the juices following press on the lower half of the fruit with the flats of your fingers. Turn the fruit as you squeeze and sip the juice. To Clean wash by hand, not recommended for the dishwasher.
