The additional Motor Brake cuts off all power to the motor when you pull the brake lever. The negative point about throtter is that during a sudden brake most of us ,especially kids ,will forget to release the throtter resulting in the Scooter moving forward despite the Brakes being engage. The Motor Brake would ensure that the Scooter will stop even if you are still engaging the throtter.
In Addition, because the Motor has stop moving due to the motor brake, less force is needed by the drum brake to stop the scooter and as such resulting in less wear and tear of the drum brake. Meaning the drum brake can last longer before the next replacement.
