It is soft, even if it says medium, decent height but not too high for stomach sleepers like me. Here's another tip, buy a separate pillow protector....not a pillow case but a protector, one with a zipper. I have found that using that along with this pillow gives you a little more "control" on how firm or soft it feels and how much give it has. Fully zippered up, it becomes more rigid and firm if you like that. Zipper slightly opened a few inches softens it considerably. all the way open zipper even more soft. I leave my zipper down just few inches and find it the best feel and function for my style of sleeping. For a guest room or a decorative pillow filler, it's fine. Has a gusset (which is nice), the filling is even, it's pretty soft/squishy. Just doesn't offer a ton of support and has a general flimsiness that seems common to most cheap pillows.
