This functional reproduction in brass of a 17th century Nautical sundial may be used to tell the approximate time. Place the sundial in the north direction and set the local latitude angle with the curved bar. The suns shadow cast by the vane will reflect the local time. The adjustable legs allow the compass to be placed level. The needle lock allows the compass bearing to be transported without damage. The sundial measures 4 inches in diameter and 0.75 inch tall. Compass comes in a sturdy cardboard gift box.
