In March 1935 the Reichsmarine was renamed Kriegsmarine. At this point they had S-Boats S1-S8 at their disposal. In June 1935 S9 was commissioned and together with the S-Boat Tender Tsingtau they represented the 1. Schnellbootflotille.

The S-Boats S10-S13 were equipped with bigger engines from Daimler. In spite of this the boats still couldn't reach the specified cruising speed. The following series S14-S17 were fitted with MAN L11 Diesel engines.

The model kit contains two S-Boats including a footbridge as well as skins for all seven S-Boats.
