Sekilas Tentang Colostrum
Colostrum merupakan antibiotik alami yang telah ada sejak mamalia diciptakan dan kaya akan antibodi (immunoglobulin/Ig) yang bertugas mengikat bahan asing melemahkan/menghancurkannya. Ig yang paling berperan dalam melawan bakteri, virus, parasit adalah Ig-G. Ig-G dalam colostrum sapi adalah yang tertinggi, mencapai 86%, lebih dari 40 kali lipat Ig-G manusia yang hanya 2% saja.
Ig-G merupakan jenis antibodi yang terbentuk setelah seseorang/seekor sapi terkena suatu penyakit infeksi. Karena itu colostrum yang dikumpulkan dari sekelompok induk sapi memiliki spektrum yang jauh lebih luas (membunuh lebih banyak jenis kuman) dibandingkan colostrum manusia yang hanya didapat dari satu orang ibu.
