This listing is for one Cool Buddy Classic box set including a cooling unit, a 12" x 24" "Pillow" cooling pad with straps, 6.5' insulated tubing, and a remote control. The Cool Buddy idea is extremely simple. Rather than cooling your entire house to frigid temperatures 8 hours a night, the Cool Buddy only cools you. This cuts electricity consumption from thousands of watts an hour down to about 6, meaning you can run it all night for well under a penny of electricity and even reduce the wear and tear on your homes HVAC system. Here is how it works. Using the physics of evaporation, the Cool Buddy Classic control unit actively chills about a gallon of water 7-12 degrees below room temperature. For example, In Houston, I typically have my home's thermostat set at 76, and typically see the cooling loop water at about 68 about 20 minutes after turning on the unit. This chilled water is then circulated through a thin cooling pad strapped to your pillow that pulls excess body heat away from you, transferring it to the water which is then run back through the chiller before being recirculated all night long. The physics are simple, the engineering is simple, and the product is simple, which is how we can sell it to you at such an incredible price. The "Pillow Pad" is a brand new size released in December 2017...larger pads are also available from Cool Buddy USA. Do note that the Cool Buddy will not replace your air conditioner which is still needed to maintain reasonable temperature and humidity levels in your home. The Cool Buddy Classic can be used for camping when paired with an optional(but not included) 12V battery pack though effectiveness will be limited in high humidity conditions. When used indoors your homes HVAC will maintain humidity at around 50% so your Cool Buddy will work fine regardless of the outside humidity in air conditioned spaces.The Cool Buddy Classic will consume about 1/4 gallon of water per night.
