The framesheet, aluminum stay, hip belt, and top lid can all be removed from the pack to trim weight when rock climbing with the pack on. When left on the pack, all of these features and the Interact suspension system work to keep the pack comfortable when mountaineering or embarking on long approaches into the alpine. A dual ice axe carry system secures tools and protects picks with integrated sleeves, and the top compression strap can be used to secure climbing rope. The Roc Spirit may be light (just two and half pounds), but the pack is still extremely durable thanks to a burly 210D HT Cordura fabric and 600D polyester base. Plus, it has a PFOA-free DWR treatment for resistance against light rains, snow, and spindrift.
