Shampoo the hair with a pH acid balanced shampoo, we recommend La Riché Pre Colour Shampoo, this will give the hair the correct acid balance, allowing Directions hair colour to achieve the best results. Processing time is between 15 and 30 minutes, a plastic cap will contain the heat on the hair helping to achieve a better result. Rinse the hair thoroughly away from the face with warm water until all the residue dye has been removed. All directions colours can be mixed with each other to create your own unique shade.
Helpful tips
If you're applying multiple colours then the hair needs to be washed and dried separately. (Please take extra care during application if you are only partially colouring, to avoid staining the surrounding hair)To achieve lighter shades than your current colour we recommend you to seek professional advice.To achieve your own unique pastel shades, you can dilute your chosen Directions colour with our White Toner.To get the most out of your colour we'd advise you to use a Colour Protecting Shampoo & Conditioner (we hate to do this again, but we do a great one that compliments Directions).Try and avoid shampoos with conditioner in.Wear rubber or plastic gloves when applying the hair colour. Use vaseline, petroleum jelly or baby oil around the hairline to avoid staining of the forehead. As with all hair colours, we advise a swatch test first.
Warning
Do NOT mix Directions in with peroxide.Do NOT dye eyelashes or eyebrows.Do not use shampoo with conditioner included. Due to the semi permanent nature of Directions certain colours can sometimes leave a slight stain on materials and surfaces.
If product comes in contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water.
Sometimes newly coloured hair can bleed when wet, so ensure hair is completely dry before sleeping or wearing light coloured clothing. (It may be safer to use old towels and bedding after application).
Directions does NOT have a specific longevity on the hair.
Shades may vary at the manufacturers discretion.
WHAT COLORS SHOULD I GET?
- For Black Hair - ALL hair dyes will not work.
- For Brown Hair - Kindly chose a darker shade color. Example: Turquoise, Dark Tulip, Rubine etc..
- Bleach once for best results!
