I purchased the cobalt and they look so nice. I previously spent a lot of money on the cobalt blue FiestaWare. I returned all of it because when I opened the packages there were fine scratches all over the dishes that simply happened in transit. I knew there was no way that they'd look any better after use with utensils. This Gibson set was roughly 1/3 the cost of the FiestaWare. And what did I find when I opened the shipping boxes? No scratches! Just purchased them BUT my son and his wife got them months ago and they are fashionable and durable. They have 4 children to use them. I love the 14 oz. cups and the bowls are a fantastic design and hold a lot. They chip very easily. I accidently lightly hit a bowl when placing it in the dishwasher and had a big chip in the bowl. I only tapped the other dish. there are also marks on the dish where they touch the dishwasher rack they sit on. You can see tiny chips exposing the white under the glaze. Save your money. I got lucky one day and the green was in stock and I wanted to order two. Sadly, Walmart limited buyers to only one set. Maybe its a trick to go back to the website. Despite the fact that I only have one set now, these dishes are great. They have weight to them, don't look cheap and are of good quality. The bowls are deep, the mugs are perfect for soup or anything. I love the ridged edge on the plates. I recently had to go on a low cholesterol diet and this plate makes it look like I have more food than I do! If you can get them, you wont be disappointed. I chose the white and I couldn't be happier! They were packed extremely well, the price is unbelievably affordable and the quality rivals that of Fiestaware. These are thick, heavy, substantial pieces. The 14 oz. mugs are perfect for that steamy morning cuppa joe and the bowls are great for soup, salad, chili, or cereal. The raised lip on the dinner plates will keep the gravy on the plate and off the table cloth at those big family gatherings (right Grampa?).
