This is a Tamiya 1/700 scale assembly and painting required plastic model kit of the IJN Shokaku、 ("Soaring Crane")、 the lead ship of the Shokaku-class aircraft carrier of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. Model kit features: This model depicts the ship as she appeared in early WWII、 during operations such as the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Battle of the Eastern Solomons. Markings are included for the white lines and landing markers on the flight deck、 and as is a full set of aircraft including Mitsubishi A6M2 fighters and Aichi D3A bombers. Completed Length: 367mm. *ABOUT THE IJN SHOKAKU: The Shokaku was one of the six carriers that attacked the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor on December 7th、 1941. Accompanied by her sister ship the Zuikaku ("Auspicious Crane") of Carrier Division Five under the command of Rear Admiral Hara、 the Shokaku launched air attacks against U.S. Naval installations and battleships in Pearl Harbor. The Shokaku was sunk during the "Battle of the Philippine Sea" on June 19、 1944 by torpedoes fired by U.S. submarine Cavalla under the command of Cmdr. Herman J. Kossler.
