I also wanted to avoid buying a 220v lamp I'd never use again. I stuck these babies to the stainless steel, and they are great! Not too bright, but bright enough for me to read, use my laptop, find whatever I need in the dark. I've had them for a few weeks now, one hanging upside down above me and another vertical on the bedpost and they haven't gone anywhere. As long as you apply firm pressure to the center when you turn them on, they turn on without issue. Bright enough to work on the hutch of my dresser so we can see what we are doing without turning on the big room light. I installed mine for use inside and outside Stack-on IWC 55 in wall gun storage cabinet. These battery operated LED tap lights are quite bright, small enough to put 1 inside the cabinet and 1 outside the cabinet on the underside of a shelf above. The lights have self stick tape for easy install and work like a charm. You simply push the center of the "puck" to turn them on/off, no fumbling for switches. I am totally satisfied with them, great product. They were inexpensive and I had to order them sight unseen. I couldn't find a size on them. They are very small- only a total of 2 3/4" across. It didn't inform me that each one took three AAA batteries. AND ... Now one of the bulbs in one of the lights doesn't work.
