There are three possible sources of noise associated with induction cooking. None of these noises indicate a defect in the product or a danger to you.
One is a fan: The Duxtop induction cooktop uses "cooling"?? which means a small fan turns on when the unit is in use. This helps keep the airflow moving at a satisfactory rate. Fans will generate a soft but perceptible hiss when running. Few people find the sound to be noticeable enough to be bothersome.
