The Mindful Mat

- Material
TPE is an ideal material for a yoga mat because it is very durable, non toxic, phthalate free, lead free, latex free, sweat resistant and bacterial resistant.

Many mats are made with PVC or poly vinyl chloride which is carcinogenic. Additionally, PVC is softened with phthalates and stabilized with lead and cadmium. In landfills or during incineration PVC releases dioxin another known carcinogen. PER mats are still made with PVC (but are not softened with phthalates) and the toxicity component is present.
NBR has trace amounts of latex and so should not be used by people with latex allergies.
TPE solves these problems.
