I was hoping it wasn't going to be stiff like others I've purchased and it's not!! Very comfy! The pattern goes all the way up to the top (in the photo, it looks like there is two black areas: on the top by the pillows and at the bottom) but it's actually only at the bottom. The underneath of the comforter is black.
