Why Silicon Free?
Did you know, many mainstream shampoos and conditioners use silicones to give your hair that silky smooth feel? Silicones are often used as a cheap ingredient to give added shine to your hair, but could they actually be damaging your hair long-term?

Silicones are polymers with a chemical structure based on chains of alternate silicon and oxygen atoms. There are many different types of silicones and it can be hard to tell if your shampoo or conditioner contains them if you don’t know what you are looking for, but look out for words ending in ‘cone’ on the ingredient list, e.g. dimethicone.

Silicones have little to no affinity with human skin or hair and are water insoluble, meaning they are very tricky to wash out. Used to give your hair added shine and smoothness, silicones form a layer around the hair shaft, smothering the hair and preventing moisture from penetrating, which can lead to dryness and brittleness.

Silicones create the temporary illusion of healthy hair, but as they continue to build up layer by layer, your hair gets weighed down, can appear greasy, dull and lacking the smoothness and shine that the silicones are meant to provide in the first place.

concentrated - apply sparingly to achieve maximum effect  

 Direction  - comb hair prior to washing, shampoo hair, wash off and drain off as much water as possible, apply conditioner and massage for 2-3 minutes and wash off. Apply Essential Oil (put 2-3 drops onto palm and smooth over hair) when hair is 80% dry (leave it on, need not wash off).

Useful Note:
During the initial stage of using the product, minority of people may face the below symptoms (especially those with unhealthy hair);
1. itchy scalp
2. dandruff
3. oily scalp
4. hair loss (rare)

Reason: 
Silicon-based ingredients in hair care products can stay in the scalp and hair follicle for a long time. In the long run, such ingredient clogs the hair follicle and damages the hair from the shaft. Unhealthy hair or no growth (no new hair grow in place of the old one) is the ultimate result. 
The initiate reaction of using non-silicon based shampoo is typically the feeling of itch, tightening of scalp, removal of dead skin (coated with layers of silicon) and loss of hair which are (broken hair) held in place by the silicon deposits in its follicle.



Consistent use of silicon-free shampoo for a period of time is required for the hair to improve. It simply takes time to remove the silicon deposits layered on the scalp. Although the exact period of time depends on individual conditions, the symptoms will usually go away in about 2 weeks. Our experience is that most would feel improvement within a week.   


Some of our customers see new hair growth after first month of use and obvious improvement after merely 3 months. This is due to the unclogging of the hair follicles as well as the gradual removal of the silicon deposits on the scalp.
