CLA, or Conjugated Linoleic Acid, is a naturally occurring fatty acid closely linked to omega-6. CLA has been shown in studies to assist in glucose metabolism and enhancement/retention of lean body mass (muscle). Although CLA plays an important role in a number of cellular metabolic processes, humans are not able to produce CLA and therefore can only obtain it from the diet.
