How to make DIY BOOK ART 1014

Preparation material : glue stick, scissors, an awl, clip

How to make a cover

Apply paste onto the cardboard. Paste it on the fabric. Cut the corner of the fabric like a picture.

Paste on the fabric and then attach the part 1 and 2 first.
Before you attache ch the part 3, 4, press the corner and then paste by glue stick.

Attach the part 3 and 4. Paste on the endpaper and inner part of the cover and then paste the end paper.Wait for more than 10 minutes when it dries fully.Then fold the end paper then you can attach the end paper neatly.

Tie the 5 hole knot for binding.

Put the 7 inner sheets on the cover and fix them with a clip.
Puncture 5 holes with an awl.
Lace a bookbiinding cord through a C,B, A hole.

Make a B hole bigger by an awl and lace a cord through a hold .
Lace a cord through a D hole.
On the back of the cover, lace a cord through an E hole.

Make a bigger hole of D and through the string.
And then pass through the C hole and back to the first place.

With two strings tie the knot like a picture.

Leave 7mm and cut the rest.

5 hole Variation for bookbinding

It is a varioation for the bookbinding method.

Put the inner sheets on the cover and fix them with clip.
Puncture three hole by an awl.
Pass through the bookbinding string to a hole A and out of the hole B.

Then it should come out from the hole B after you wrap the cover and the inner pages.
Put the string to the hole C.
And then pass through the hole C after covering the cover and the inner pages.

The string from the back of the hole C should go through the hole A .
Tie the knot.
Leave 7mm and cut.

Fixing rubber band

On the back of the cover, puncture two holes by an awl . But you should leave 15 cm from the top.
Put the fixing rubber band and tie the knot.
Tie the knot and cut

On the other hole, put the fixing rubber band and tie the knot.
Complete in the same way.
