All our DVRs are like standalone computers, so you SHOULD NOT directly connect them to your computer.
You will instead need a VGA or an HDMI monitor with a VGA cable or an HDMI cable respectively. A TV set should be fine, although a monitor is still preferable.
An Ethernet cable for internet connection will also be needed for remote access, which is actually optional (This DVR system can be used just fine without internet connection)
Remote access from PC can only be done from a computer running Microsoft Windows. Remote access from smart devices can only be done on Android and iOS devices.
