In recent years, smartphones have become the dominant experience in personal computing. As more adults use smartphones, more children are becoming exposed to them.

Not surprisingly, educators and parents are expressing concerns over children relying too much on passive activities offered over these devices.

In June 2012, Yujin, Philip, and Edward decided to develop the ACA Camera Kit to get children exposed to creative experiences taking pictures on smartphones rather than using these device to watch videos, playing games or engaging in other passive activities.

We have bootstrapped for the last 6 months developing the ACA Camera Kit and after numerous designs, mockups and trouble shoots, we have finally completed a fully functional prototype (case and app) and are now ready to start production.

Aca Story

Aca ws developed for children who love playing with smartphones. As smartphones were becoming the main gaming device for adults as well as children, there was a need to change this device into a fun and yet an educational toy.

Instead of being immersed to the digital screen, we wanted to create something for children that would let them run around and let them experience the analog world.

The Aca is composed of the iPhone case and the iPhone application.

Through 8 different lenses, aca allows your children to create their own view of the world.

Your child can now take creative photos, record his/her voice to explain the picture to you. So much more fun for Parent-Kid Bonding and quality time !

There is also a Calendar function that lets you see the progress of your child at a glance.

It is not just a fun accessory for your iPhone 5, it is also a cover that will protect your phone in case the little ones dropped it. We created the ACA Camera Kit (case and app) for kids who enjoy playing with smartphones and taking pictures. Aca converts an iPhone 5 into a fun to use camera with an intuitive multi-touch user interface that allows kids to become almost instantly familiar with Aca’s functionalities.
