Black Diamond added a thermo-formed back panel for a comfortable fit and feel, and integrated a removable framesheet that doubles as a bivy pad when you''re forced to spend an unexpected night high on the mountain.
The Speed has a cinching skirt beneath the removable lid to seal out snow and rain, and it can be extended to adequately fit all of your climbing gear with ease. The 210D fabric is very durable and light, and Black Diamond welded 420D abrasion overlays in critical areas so it doesn''t tear up against the mountain''s rocky ridges. One front and two stretch side sleeves provide room for a rain jacket or a couple of water bottles, and you also get two PickPockets and removable crampon straps to secure your ice climbing and mountaineering essentials.
