Vines planted in 1948, grown on a slightly sloping clay-loam soil mixed with pebbles and sandstone, providing drainage and mineral input. A medium to full bodied wine. Rich, ruby red in colour, with notes of cedar and raspberry on the nose and an earthy lift. Primary fruit flavours of cherry and five spice carry along the medium bodied palate. Oak maturation has delivered a complex wine with notes of cedar and an exceptional tannin structure. Decanter in it’s youth to improve the wine.
