Tillandsia Intermedia

An unusual airplant; Tillandsia intermedia is one of the very interesting tillandsias because it hangs upside down and although it produces basal offsets, it also grows them from the inflorescence itself. It also has an incredibly modern and attractive shape. The leaves can recurve into circles that give this species such a whimsical appearance.

 

So you have the plant growing from both ends which produces very cool-looking hanging specimen. With its upside down growing produces plant colonies that cascade many generations in length. When in bud, the single of double bract will blush a rosy-purple color with purple tubular flowers.

The photos showing this multi-plant specimen are one of the collector's favourite which shows what these plants can eventually grow into, a long cascading chain of plants. The photos also shows growing from both the base of plant as well as the flower stems.

The species is endemic to western Mexico; Guerrero, Sinaloa, and Jalisco.

Air Plant Fertiliser to improve your plant growth

 

Looking to help your air plant grow faster and better ? If air plants is only taking in water via their leaves and especially if you are using only tap water; it will good to provide air plants with some form of suitable fertiliser to help them to grow better.

 

We have a low-nitrogen NPK (Nitrogen-Potassium-Phorsphorus) formulated fertiliser to help your air plants thrive. It help to promote growth, bloom and offset production for your air plants.

 

Comes in 2 packaging; Small ( app. 150 gm) and Medium (app. 400 gm)

 

Applications :

 

Diluted 1 teaspoon of fertiliser into 1 litre of water. Mist the solution to the plant once a month on top of your regular watering. Do not over do with the fertisliser as can cause plant to suffer from nitrogen burn if overuse.

 

Our air plant fertiliser can also be used for other bromeliad and orchids plants.
