I did expect them to be taller than they are. I didn't think I would like them because of that. I put them in place and they look perfect. So if you prefer a taller lamp, these aren't for you. Since I don't have a ceiling light I have to depend on the lamps to create enough light and they do. My previous lamps had a turn switch, these have the push the button on one side to turn it on, then push it back to turn it off. I have to get use to that. These lamps look good and light well. That's all I could ask for.
