SMITH FORGE aprons are crafted out of heavy-duty 16oz canvas, waxed to a weight of 22oz. The apron is 29” tall by 27” wide. Adjustable, shoulder pads are slipped onto the 65” long straps. Straps run through metal grommets and can be tied in front, back or sides. The apron will fit small (5’ tall) to large (50” waist) users. This material has a rugged look and feel. Our pictures are representative of the material.
LET’S TALK POCKETS. There are 11 pockets and 2 hammer hangers in a range of sizes: (H” x W”) 1-8x7, 1-5x7, 2-8x4.5, 2-5x4.5, 1-8x2, 1-5x2, 2-5.5x1.5, 1-5.5x5. The pockets will hold a wide variety of tools.
WAXED CANVAS. Wax causes our fabric to be stiff until broken in. It also makes our aprons water-resistant, long lasting and breathable. This waxing technique has a cool history. Waxed fabric was used to make sails for ships and water-resistant clothes like cowboy slicker coats. An old practice that is still used throughout the world today.
CLEANING YOUR APRON. Shake or brush off loose debris, spot wash with cold water and gentile detergent, air-dry. Re-waxing kits are available for if and when the surface needs a wax touch up. Do Not machine wash or use hot water.
