It's always hard judging how a product, maybe even especially a makeup product, is going to LOOK on someone just based off reviews alone. I took before and after pictures of my lashes using this mascara to give the next buyer an idea. It works, it has fibers, it clumps a little. Application is easy, and yes, had I put on a second layer I may have been able to "build up" my lashes to achieve and longer look. What I like is that I can coat all my lashes, even in the corner of my eyes, easily. The mascara seems to dry after application rather quickly, so building up each layer does not require a ton of patience (a bonus for me considering I'm a mom of four girls under 7 and any time I do my makeup there's an audience.) I have heard so much hype about this mascara that I've been wanting to try it for awhile, but ever since receiving it I've only used it a handful of times. For the price i do think it is a reasonable mascara. Without any other eye makeup i find that my lashes do look nice with the mascara but once i apply my eyeliner they just seem pretty average and lose the WOW factor. I don't find this mascara to be very lengthening even though it claims to be and I've noticed that i really need to take my time working with this mascara because on first application it tends to clump my lashes a lot. The mascara wand has a great shape to get into the inner corners of my eyes which can be quite difficult but the wand is also a bit thicker it makes it difficult to apply to the bottom lashes without smudging. This mascara was nice if i really take my time working with it but i probably would not repurchase it compared to my other drugstore mascara.
