Lush produces and sells a variety of handmade products, including soaps, shower gels, shampoos and hair conditioners, bath bombs, bubble bars, hand and body lotions and face masks.
Lush uses fruit and vegetables, essential oils, synthetic ingredients, honey and beeswax in their products.In addition to not using animal fats in their products, they are also against animal testing and perform tests with volunteers instead.

Sometimes the best ideas are the old ones. This cleanser is based on an age old formula that uses the best of ingredients to amazing effects.
Angels on Bare Skin evens out skin tone, reduces redness and improves the health and appearance of your skin – giving a natural healthy glow.
The ground almonds in this product release their goodness and turn to an almond milk on your hand when you add water.
Product Story
Almond milk has been used in many parts of the world for centuries as a toning and brightening ingredient.
We have mixed this with kaolin, to absorb grease and gently cleanse, vegetable glycerine to soften and moisturise the skin and a beautiful blend of essential oils, all chosen for their abilities to balance and tone the skin.
We then sprinkle the mix with lavender flowers as we roll it. Angels on Bare Skin is made from 100 percent natural ingredients – because when nature is this good, you don’t want to mess with her balance!
This is basically a solid that turns to a cleansing milk when you add the water. By taking out the water we have taken away the need to add preservatives – which makes this much kinder on your face and does not upset the skin's own microflora.
It is hard to tell you in words how fantastic this product is. Only by using it will you know its full value.

A beautiful mystery
Our pink squishy cleanser that was inspired by mermaids. An ocean of ingredients to soothe and calm the skin.
We make a mixture of carrageen extract, vegetable glycerine, Irish moss gel and aloe vera gel. We mix in fine sea salt, sweet wild orange oil and patchouli oil. Then we bind these together with calamine powder and kaolin. Finally we roll the mix inside a large sheet of nori seaweed - to create a huge facial sushi.
Product Story
Together they make a mineral rich cleanser that is packed full of emollient ingredients to soften the skin and clay powders to deep clean and absorb grease. The texture is amazing, the smell is rich and comforting – but most of all this leaves your skin calm, smooth and renewed.
Takes the stingray out of skin that has been caught by the wind and sun.
When we first wrapped this product in seaweed, we stood back to admire it and only then realised that it looked like a mermaid's tail. We still giggle every time we think about it. So we named it after Marina from the 60s cult show Stingray.
DARK ANGELS

We invented this as an alternative to Angels on Bare Skin for people with oilier skins.
Rhassoul mud, charcoal and black sugar combine to create a very absorbent and exfoliating cleanser.

We know there are lots of people out there who don’t feel like their skin is clean unless they have given it a really good seeing to. But we worry about you crazy people who like to attack your faces – so here you can have your way with a good old scrub, whilst we are carefully looking after your skin with organic cold pressed avocado oil and vegetable glycerine, to soften and moisturise, so that you don’t take too much out of it.
Sandalwood and rosewood give a rich deep fragrance whilst also being cooling and antiseptic.
This one is definitely for those brave types who love lots of exfoliation and a tight clean feeling. We are mostly wimps here at Lush, but Rowena is our resident scrubber – and she likes to use this twice a week (the rest of the time she is punishing her body with all the other scrubs she has made us invent).
HERBALISM

Surrender to the power of herbs
A solid cleanser to gently exfoliate, remove grease and calm troubled skin.
We have to plan ahead when making Herbalism, because we start the product by steeping nettle and rosemary herbs in rice vinegar for 48 hours. When the herbs have given up their goodness into the vinegar, we filter them away and use the vinegar to mix with the other ingredients.
Product Story
We put ground almonds in this for the lovely soft cleansing milk they provide when mixed with water and for their gentle exfoliating effect. We boost this exfoliating effect with rice bran. Then we add:
Kaolin to absorb grease and give a deep clean.
Rose absolute and chamomile oil for their skin balancing effects.
Chlorophyllin, the green pigment from grass, because it is incredibly beneficial and regenerating to the skin.
Herbalism is made with 100 percent natural ingredients. It will help with spots, grease, and calm troubled skin.
This product came about because our Japanese staff asked for a cleanser that matched the needs of Japanese skin. Often with their skin care they are trying to combat oiliness, remove shine and brighten skin tone.
Noriko brought traditional ingredients from Japan, and together with the Lush inventors, they added traditional European herbal ingredients and came up with a product that is good for combating oily skin – no matter where you happen to come from.
