About Kopi Luwak

Kopi Luwak originated from Indonesia and Kopi means Coffee and Luwak means the Civet.

Luwak Coffee, or Civet Coffee, it is made out of coffee cherries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian palm civet. After being collected, the coffee beans are hygienically processed and perfectly roasted for keeping the complex distinctive flavors.

Kopi Luwak produced by The Butterfly Globe Brand, Bali’s legendary coffee producer founded in 1935.

Kopi Bali The Butterfly Globe Brand has collected luwak arabica coffee beans from the highlands throughout the Indonesian archipelago to bring you a premium cup of coffee. This rare coffee is collected and processed to guarantee you an amazing coffee experience. Enjoy!

This Kopi Luwak proccess takes place only on island of Bali, Java and Sumatra in the Indonesian Archipelago. Producing no more than 300 Kg per year and distributed throughout the world.

Some people try to breed the civet and given a coffee cherries to eat, they won’t succeed. Our Kopi Luwak is origin from wild civet which live mutualism with coffee farmers. Civets use their nature instinct to eat the best taste of coffee cherries in the coffee plantation.

Beware! Don’t buy the wrong Kopi Luwak.

Do you know that 70% of the Kopi Luwak Coffee available at coffee stores and Internet is not 100% pure Kopi Luwak and it sometimes does not contain anything of the genuine coffee. Most of them are blend, meaning mix with other coffee of non Luwak process.

Doubt these sources!

1.    Cheap.

Considering the scarcity of the authentic product, pure Kopi Luwak cannot be sold at low prices.

2.    Blended Kopi Luwak.

If you are looking for pure Kopi Luwak, do not buy any product that claim to be a blended Kopi Luwak coffee. You never know how much percent of Kopi Luwak was added in the blend, sometimes only 1%. And that is why it can be cheap.

How to make a perfect cup of Coffee at home?

The coffee brewing methods are recommended to prepare Kopi Luwak since they have been found to maximize the extraction of the beneficial flavors of coffee, while minimizing the extraction of bitter coffee compounds and undesirable components.

1.    Buy a good coffee

2.    Never store your coffee in the fridge!

Coffee must be kept dry, in a dark place and in an airtight container at room temperature.

3.    Always use fresh clean water!

4.    Water should be HOT!

Optimum water temperature for brewing coffee is 200° F (95° C) plus or minus 2%. If the water is too hot, you’ll end up with coffee that tastes bitter or astringent. If it’s too cool, you’ll find the coffee flat and lifeless.

5.    Use the right coffee-to-water ratio!

Use a standard coffee scoop (about the same as two level tablespoons) or 9 grams per 6 ounces (170 ml) of water. Most of the time, however, the scoop method will get you close, and you can fine-tune the proportions based on taste.

6.    Do not re-heat the brewed coffee!
