The most basic thing you need to know about your faucet/tap in order to replace or add an aerator is the threading - either male or female.
If your kitchen faucet/tap has threads on the outside, it is called male threaded - which means you need to buy a FEMALE threaded aerator to fit over it.
Conversely, if your faucet has threads on the inside, it is called female threaded and you'll need to buy a MALE threaded aerator.
Once you've determined whether you need a male or female aerator, you'll need to determine the size. Typical regular size for a faucet aerator is M24 male threaded aerator (or external thread) or M22 female aerator(internal) threaded.
But wait! Before you get out your tape measure, there's a very easy way to guide you on what size replacement aerator you'll need.
Place a NEW Singapore 50 cents coin over your existing aerator. See photos below. If your current aerator is about the size of a NEW Singapore 50 cents coin, you have a regular sized aerator. Then the aerators on sale here fit your tap. You can then decide the thread of the aerator - whether a M24 male or a M22 Female.
