Sustainably-Grown Spirulina Crunchies

Spirulina is a microscopic freshwater algae named for its tiny spiral shape. Long ago, the Aztecs skimmed spirulina from the surface of lakes and ponds, sun-drying their harvest into small, nourishing superfood cakes. Spirulina's abundance of chlorophyll gives it a deep, emerald-green color. Rich in vitamin A as well as a good source of B vitamins and iron, spirulina is also made up of 75% protein including all nine essential amino acids.

The Sunfood Difference

Our spirulina is grown in an isolated environment without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, and is free of contaminants. After harvest, it is ground into a paste, pressed into spaghetti-like strands and gently air-dried at low temperatures. This truly raw process creates the extraordinary crunch and flavor of Spirulina Crunchies.
