PowerShot D30 is equipped with the HS SYSTEM which integrates the DIGIC 4 digital image processor's ultra-fast data processing speed and 12.1-megapixel high sensitivity CMOS image sensor's light-gathering capability, resulting in improved signal-to-noise ratio for excellent night shooting performance. It is especially useful for shooting with high ISO settings at low light situation, as it allows a shorter exposure time thus shaking due to long exposure setting can be largely reduced. Sharp and gorgeous images can be captured even with handheld shooting underwater or during orienteering in the dark. DIGIC 4 also brings faster operation and improved focusing speed to allow easy capture of instantaneous moment which makes PowerShot D30 an ideal outdoor shooting camera.

PowerShot D30 is equipped with a 28mm wide-angle 5x optical zoom lens which enable users to capture both distant scenery and close-up subjects effortlessly. Perfect for travel and underwater shooting, you can easily capture wide open scene or stunning underwater scenes within a limited space, and far away subjects in brilliant details. The camera is also integrated with a lens-shift type optical Image Stabilizer (IS) to provide optimal compensation that effectively reduces blur caused by camera shake to ensure sharp images.

Full HD Movie Shooting with Dynamic IS and Powered IS to record all exciting moments

PowerShot D30 supports full HD movie shooting in 1920 x 1080 resolution for more vivid image details. Made specially for movie shooting, Dynamic IS reduces shakings caused by handheld shooting at wide angle, while Powered IS is made to improve motion compensation at the tele-end. Work perfectly with Scene Detection technology, the camera can intelligently select the optimal settings for up to 21 pre-set scene modes for movie shooting.
A Super Slow Motion movie mode which captures at 240 frames per second³ and plays back at 30 frames per second is also included to create a funny slow motion effect.

Enhanced Scene Detection and other intelligent technologies to capture stunning images with ease

Offering up to 32 different scenes, Scene Detection technology in PowerShot D30 can automatically detect shooting distance, lighting condition, color temperature and moving subjects etc and adjust to the best possible camera settings to capture the scene easily. By detecting a subject's focus and exposure, white balance, ISO speed and dynamic range, perfect images in different situations across a range of lighting conditions can be easily captured. Coupled with the Smart Flash Exposure function, the camera can automatically calculate and modify settings like flash output, flash synchronic speed and ISO speed to ensure bright and clear images. It serves as a perfect solution for common problems like uneven exposure that are found in normal flash mode.
 

Handheld night scene and Low Light shooting mode

With Handheld Night Scene mode, PowerShot D30 will capture multiple images simultaneously, and combine them into one sharp and optimally-exposed photo with minimized noise. Bright and clear images can be easily captured even without using tripod.

Smart Shutter Mode
