The UV-6R is a new design from Baofeng company in 2015

The UV-6R is using the newest firmware HDBF230 which developed by Baofeng to fix the bugs (such as External speakers without voice) in the UV-5R firmware BFB297.

Advantages of UV-6R

To compare with the UV-5R, the UV-6R optimized the key design of the main panel, simplified the internal circuit, while also reduced the number of keys to avoid the wrong operation.

UV-6R only has 16 Keyboard Buttons which has removed the Band key, independent of A/B key and EXIT key; the relevant function keys have been integrated and reorganized, which make the UV-6R more User-friendly and humanized design.

The keys of UV-6R are made of the material PTT Soft rubber instead of ABS material (UV-5R) which made the user more comfortable when pressing the keys.

UV-6R is with a 16 ohm high-impedance speaker.

UV-6R has the straw LED lamp which is relatively higher lumens than ordinary LED in UV-5R.

UV-6R has a 15cm antenna which is 3cm longer than the UV-5R''s 12cm antenna. Increasing the length enables the UV-6R to perform better in sending and receiving radio wave and signals than UV-5R.

UV-6R has a new design clip-on battery removal in the bottom of the radio.
