The description should have said that they took "candelabra base" light bulbs instead of medium base (it would have saved me from ordering 25 of the wrong bulbs). I do wish that they were better made since the bottom of the base was left open (with exposed wires) only covered by an undersized thin foam pad. I thought it would be the same (from looking at the pictures) but this one is very light in weight so it can easily be knocked off the table if you brush it a little harder when tapping the light on. Also, it isn't as sturdy as I thought it would be. But it works just fine. If you are looking for something more durable though, I'd search for something else because I don't think these will last more than a year or two (especially when I have little kids who I'm sure will end up knocking these off the table because of how light and hollow it is). I'd be lucky if I went a year! =] Oh and the shades come separate, but they can be held down so they don't move or fall off with a detachable plastic screw thing that you hold it down with, no tools necessary and takes 5 seconds. I was a little confused when I tried to but the bulb and shade on, but of course, after I read the instructions it all went together with ease. They work as advertised. A T2 13 watt candelobra base is needed, which is not included. A bit pricey but lasts along time and is energy efficient. Overall I was pleased with this purchase. The shades can be ordered in different colors which are available
