Why choose Telstra, Vodafone, or Optus?
Other options such as Boost Mobile are mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) that buy minutes or data wholesale from the major carriers and resell them to you at retail prices. Therefore, in actual fact, the MVNOs might not be allocated every frequency spectrum of all Telco they are buying the data/minutes from, which limits the coverage. None of these 3 major players offer unlimited data. Unlimited data will mean you're using either a roaming SIM card or a MVNO network.
Please note that not all the SIM cards comes with original packaging, to save on import and mailing costs. This will not affect SIM card usage and activation.
What is important is the SIM card chip and SIM card number (which is located on the SIM card chip or the SIM card chip holder itself), and you're good to go. :)
Please do not buy if you'd like the original packaging. This listing is for SIM card, and not embellishments. The packaging is to be thrown away after all, right?
Where's my Phone number (for Mobile plans only)?
It is to be selected only upon activation. There is no phone number allocated to the SIM card. Only during the process of activation will you be able to choose a phone number.
Can I activate in Singapore?
Yes:
If you have an Australian passport, medicare card, or driver's license, or validated visa (e.g. student visa that you have already used to travel to Australia prior to activation).
Optus can use credit card to activate
No:
If you are a foreigner that has not used the visa to travel into Australia.
Vodafone and Telstra will need to wait till you pass immigration and have your visa validated.
