It is lined with tin which is the most commonly preferred choice for copper cookware (tin is the silver colored metal inside your set). BEFORE USING Wash your new coffee set in warm water with a mild soap or dish detergent. ESSENTIAL PRECAUTIONS Never place your coffee set in a dishwasher. Never boil your set dry. Never use metallic utensils to stir your coffee. Use only wood or plastic spoons. Never use steel wool or abrasive pads that could scratch your coffee set. CLEANING You can use the commercially available cleaning materials for copper or tin to clean your coffee set if you need to, but remember it's OK to let your set turn dark. It adds character! Outside: Non abrasive pad or sponge is the best. Inside: Tin is a soft metal and should be cleaned with a dishcloth or sponge only. Never use abrasive cleaning materials like scouring pads or metal scrapers on your coffee set. Rinse thoroughly after washing and dry to avoid setting. It is best to rinse it right after use so that residual coffee grinds don't dry and harden.
